Shabbat Dinner With Speaker, Rachel Fish

Dear Friends,

I am very excited to let you know about our upcoming Community Shabbat Dinner on February 3 at 6:30 PM with guest speaker Rachel Fish.

You certainly recall Rachel battling with Harvard University to have a 2.5 million dollar endowment given by Sheik Zayed, ruler of the United Arab Emirates, returned after he set up an anti-American, anti-Semitic think-tank. Garnering national media attention, she succeeded in forcing the Sheik to shut down the center in August of 2003. After extensive media coverage of the issue, Harvard returned Sheikh Zayed's endowment in July of 2004. As a result of her efforts, she was named one of the "Forward Fifty," a list of the 50 most influential Jews in America, for the years 2003 and 2004.

Rachel received her Master of Theological Studies from Harvard Divinity School where she studied contemporary thought in Judaism and Islam. Her Bachelor of Arts degree was from The George Washington University where she double majored in Middle Eastern Studies and Judaic Studies.

Rachel has appeared on CBS Evening News, NPR's All Things Considered, and published in the Wall Street Journal.

$18 per person and NO CHARGE for Students

Seating is limited and an RSVP is required. Please e mail us at ChabadWellesley@aol.com to RSVP or for more info.

RE

The Wellesley/Weston Chabad was founded on the basic principal that a Jew is a Jew is a Jew. Simply put, we do not recognize the labels of Orthodox, Conservative, or Reform Judaism. As we are the children of one G-d, who study from one Torah, we are in fact one People, and as such we welcome all Jews looking to share and celebrate in our common heritage. [More]
